An ongoing exploration of how we measure, value and understand ourselves.

The Weigh-In explores how systems of measurement shape the way we perceive ourselves and the world around us.

From the first moment a human being is weighed, recorded and categorized, aspects of life are translated into numbers. Weight, height, performance, income, intelligence, popularity and productivity help us make sense of the world. Yet measurement does more than describe reality; it also shapes how we understand ourselves and one another within it.

The Weigh-In explores the tension between what can be measured and what gives life meaning. It asks not only what measurements tell us, but also what they do. When does a number become more than information? When does measurement become judgement? And how do systems of classification shape our understanding of what is considered normal, valuable or successful?

Through participatory installations, spatial works, rituals, guided visualisations and artistic research, I create situations in which these often invisible structures become tangible. I am interested in moments where familiar systems are temporarily disrupted, allowing new perspectives and new forms of understanding to emerge.

The project does not seek definitive answers, but meaningful encounters. Each work is an experiment within a larger ongoing inquiry into how we measure, value and understand ourselves.
